Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Ltd. (IEM) is a leading global supplier of bulk material handling equipment.

IEM evolved from Industrial Equipment Co. Ltd (IECO) and continues to be respected for its engineering, manufacturing, bearing inspection/repair, machining and fabrication operations. IEM services industries such as: mining, forestry, and pulp and paper industries.

At IEM we work closely with our clients and offer comprehensive technical services to provide practical solutions for the most demanding situations. Management Team

In 2003, John Hards and Joe Wurz purchased the Machinery Design and Manufacturing Division of IECO and the name was changed to "Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Limited." (IEM)

More recently, shares have been sold to many employees and the company is now becoming regarded as "Employee Owned".

Background & Experience:

  • John Hards, President

John Hards has over 40 years experience in the manufacturing sector, as a Sawmill Manager for a large Forest Products Company and as a Project Manager for many major Mill Improvement Projects including construction of a "fully optimized" Greenfield Sawmill located in Northern Ireland. John Hards is the Inventor of the patented "Durand Raute Rotary Veneer Clipper" which is used in nearly all Softwood Plywood and Veneer mills in North America, plus many mills worldwide. Hards was awarded the 1989 Manning Innovation Award for this invention, as it enabled more efficient production of veneer and plywood.

  • Joe Wurz - VP Finance

Joe Wurz is IEM’s VP Finance, with over 30 years experience in senior management positions in large brokerage, industrial, manufacturing and forestry companies. Joe has also been a business consultant to many small companies.
